As part of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine's Global Service Learning program, students and faculty recently visited Jamaica to provide dental care and education for populations who would otherwise be under served.

The Tufts team provided dental extractions, cleanings, and fillings, as well as offer a full range of preventative care, including oral health education, free toothbrushes, and toothpaste, to members of the under served areas of Jamaica. According to the team, "it was a humbling experience to educate the children and adults about the importance of oral hygiene as well as an uplifting feeling to provide dental work to patients who have never had the opportunity of seeing a dentist."

The trip was profiled in a Boston Globe article
