Sunday Concert Series—An Afternoon with the Iron River Singers: Lecture-Concert of New England Indigenous Music and Dance

The Iron River Singers are a well-known local northern-style pow-wow singing group, bringing together members of the Chippewa, Wampanoag, Abenaki, and Passamaquoddy nations, among others. The group will perform traditional pow-wow music from their repertoire along with dance performances punctuated by short explanations. The concert will be preceded by an interactive presentation by the group's director and educator, Chris Newell, to introduce indigenous music to the audience.
